For years, The Young Turks (TYT) positioned itself as the bastion of progressive thought, the champion of the left, and the antidote to corporate media corruption. But let’s face the facts—TYT is no longer what it claims to be. The very network that once stood for real change has become a shadow of its former self—a money-driven machine masquerading as progressive, selling out its values for clicks, views, and relevance. If you’re still watching TYT, let me ask you—What are they doing for the progressive movement? Are they amplifying the voices of real independent journalists? Are they advocating for systemic change, or are they just chasing the next controversy for a bump in ad revenue? The answer is clear, and it’s time we stop pretending otherwise.
TYT’s Problem—Faux Progressivism and Selling Out
TYT’s leadership, especially Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur, have shown us where their priorities lie—not with the people, not with progressivism, but with their bottom line. They’ve spent years blurring the lines between progressive values and populist rhetoric, dabbling in anti-woke narratives, and parroting talking points that sound suspiciously close to right-wing grievances. Why? Because outrage sells, and TYT has become a business first, a movement second—if at all.
The network’s partnerships and financial backers tell a story of corporate influence that cannot be ignored. From venture capital funding to questionable alliances, TYT has sold out its independent roots. Instead of leading the fight against corporate media, they’ve positioned themselves as yet another corporate entity, albeit one with a progressive facade.
The Right-Wing Threat—Why We’re Losing the Media Battle
While TYT flounders, the right-wing media machine thrives. Billionaire-funded outlets like Fox News, OANN, and The Daily Wire pump out content 24/7, backed by legions of supporters who amplify their messages, share their content, and donate money to keep their propaganda alive.
Right-wing audiences don’t just consume content—they fund it. They’ve created an ecosystem where their ideas dominate the narrative, infiltrating every corner of the media landscape. Progressives? We’re still waiting for someone else to do the heavy lifting.
The reality is that the right-wing machine is winning because they’ve built a culture of financial and ideological support. Meanwhile, progressives sit on the sidelines, complaining about the system but doing little to fight it. We let independent journalists struggle, ignored and unsupported, while corporate-funded networks like TYT suck all the oxygen out of the room.

Stop Watching TYT—Start Supporting Real Change
Let me be blunt—If you’re still giving TYT your time, your clicks, or your money, you’re part of the problem. Every view, every subscription, every moment spent on their content is a moment that could be used to support real independent journalists—people who are actually doing the hard work of exposing corruption, lobbying for change, and fighting for a better future.
Independent journalists are out there every day, digging into the stories that matter, often at great personal and financial cost. They don’t have the luxury of million-dollar studios or corporate backers. They rely on grassroots support—your support—to keep going.
What You Can Do Right Now
If you’re serious about change, here’s what you can do:
Demand Accountability. Hold platforms like TYT accountable for their actions. If they’re selling out progressive values, call them out. Refuse to let them dominate the narrative while ignoring smaller, more authentic voices.
Stop Watching TYT. Their time is up. If they can’t commit to real progressivism, they don’t deserve your support.
Support Independent Journalists. Find creators and platforms that align with your values and contribute to their work. If you can’t afford to donate, amplify their messages by sharing their content, leaving comments, and spreading the word.
Build the Progressive Ecosystem. We can’t compete with the right-wing machine without our own infrastructure of support. This means creating a culture where progressives invest in each other, financially and ideologically.
The Future Is in Our Hands
Progressivism isn’t losing because the ideas aren’t popular—it’s losing because we aren’t putting our weight behind them. While the right builds an empire, we’ve been content to let corporate-funded faux-progressive platforms dominate our space. That has to stop.
The choice is simple—Either you’re in this fight, or you’re a spectator. Either you support the people who are fighting for real change, or you’re enabling the ones who are selling you out.
This is our moment to take the progressive movement back. Let’s own it. Let’s amplify the voices that matter. And let’s stop giving platforms like TYT the space to dominate.
The future depends on us. Are you ready to fight for it?
This image has me like this just really shows who they are. I don’t understand how people don’t realize it by now the kind of stuff that Ana says is unacceptable.
I stopped watching TYT when I realize that they were liars. I’m glad you’re talking about this because I think people need to expose them. They’re not good for us and if they’re just going to be another corporate media outlet, then good riddance.
Like who really believes anymore that TYT is progressive I don’t think anyone’s buying that anymore. I think it’s time for people to find real progressives. Stop watching the media.
Ana is a nightmare. I have always thought she should go work for Republicans. She is not interested in progress, just profit.
I stopped watching them. They are a joke now. They say anything for clicks and views.
I trusted them for a very long time. They betrayed so man people. Money changes anyone it seems.
